The Brief
WordCamp Romania hadn’t happened in 10 years. Bringing it back meant building everything from scratch: brand, site, print materials, social media, for an event that carried both expectation and nostalgia. No brief, no inherited assets, no precedent to follow.
The Process
Working with a team of dedicated volunteers means working with a lot of opinions. The approval process was genuinely challenging, multiple stakeholders, conflicting feedback, and the constant risk of design-by-committee.
I learned to hold my ground without losing the room. When things started slipping, I pulled them back.
The event was held in Brașov… which, full disclosure, is my hometown. So there was a little extra pressure to get it right.
The Result
A complete visual identity delivered across every touchpoint: site, print, social media. Over 200 attendees showed up for a community that had been waiting a decade to reunite. The design had to feel worthy of that moment, and I think it did.
