The Brief

Too many small Romanian businesses had no clear way to show what they sell, no menu, no product list, nothing beyond a WhatsApp number. After a failed first attempt with a predecessor product, we ran proper market validation: two weeks of surveys across HoReCa communities confirmed the gap wasn’t at the top of the market. It was in the middle, and nobody was building for local producers at all.

The Process

• Brand & visual identity from scratch
• Presentation website: designed and implemented independently in Kubio/WordPress
• Dashboard UI: full Figma design across two user branches (HoReCa & local producers), implemented by technical co-founder Andrei Șestac
• Social media content & graphic design: ongoing posts and banners across channels
• 19 HTML email templates: designed in Figma, built in collaboration with AI tools

The Result

A fully functional SaaS platform, built by two people from scratch, designer and developer, no agency, no outside budget. Meniola.ro launched legally compliant from day one and serves a segment the Romanian market was ignoring: small HoReCa businesses and local producers who finally have a product built specifically for them.

UX testing with non-technical users confirmed the approach worked: 90% published their first menu in under 10 minutes, without assistance.
