The Biref
The ambition was massive: to build the “Romanian Booking.com.” QHoliday was intended to be a heavy-duty booking engine, a web app capable of managing massive amounts of data, filters, and properties. Because it was a new player on the market, I was also tasked with creating the logo and a foundational brand identity to give the platform a visual direction.
The Process
Designing a local competitor to global giants meant thinking about every possible edge case in a user’s journey. I started by crafting the brand (the logo and style guide) and then translated that into a complex UI system. I focused on ensuring that the search, filtering, and booking flows felt intuitive rather than overwhelming. The collaboration was smooth, working with a marketing team that knew how to bridge the gap between business goals and design requirements.
The Result
The project was eventually halted by the client and didn’t reach its full potential, but from a design perspective, it remains one of my most complex undertakings. It’s a testament to being able to build a brand from the ground up and design for massive scale, proving that the system was built to handle high-level complexity.
